As precision medicine and translational medicine keep evolving, there is need for pharmacology to study the laws and mechanisms of drug-organism interactions from novel paradigms and multiple dimensions, with the aim to accelerate precision drug research & development and achieve precision drug therapy. Hence pharmacology research needs to intersect with various analytical technologies which have been recent-rapidly emerging in life science to deeply reveal the multidimensional scientific insights of drug molecule-target molecule interactions. Analytical pharmacology is an emerging cross-field that focuses on the key scientific issues in pharmacology, i.e. developing novel principles, methods and technology for the detection and tracing of biomolecules, conducting qualitative and quantitative detection of active molecules in vivo and vitro in a more specific, sensitive and rapid manner, and facilitating the molecular identification and biological information extraction, for the study of variations from various components, structural units and interaction processes in biological systems. Analytical pharmacology will put together joint efforts of the scientists and engineers from multiple disciplines of Chemistry, Biomedicine, Bioengineering, Pharmacy, Computer Science and Pharmacology, to establish an academic hub merging with cutting-edge analytical technology, in order to promote the continuous development of pharmacology discipline.
